Guitar Hero Is For Losers!

So, my new job is in Greenville, SC! It’s much smaller than Atlanta, but still pretty cool. Did you know there are 30 Greenvilles in the United States? 31, if you count close cousin, Greeneville, TN. California actually has three! Anyhoo, I’ll write more about my new home later. For now, enjoy these cool pictures.

Yes, readers it’s true. My tenure in retail is ending (or being put on hold for now). And, before you start thinking it was because of this blog, let me assure you, it’s not. I’ve been offered a position to do what I actually went to school for. Go figure, huh? So, the question remains: can I continue writing about retail without actually being on the front lines? Tune in next week to find out.
So, lots of Halloween ads to choose from this week. How about a smorgasbord? Here we go.
First up: Party City. Nice spot using the iconic Thriller as a theme. A little expected, but fun anyway. The behind the scenes stuff is pretty cool. The spot was created by Zimmerman Advertising. In addition, they created a teaser website as well as a Facebook application.
Next, we have Bing.com riding the recent vampire craze straight to monotony. Yeah, your vampire boyfriend is smoking hot (literally), but dude? This relationship has you stuck in a dark room, severely anemic, hungry, and incredibly indecisive. Not worth it.
Finally, we have pretty twisted print campaign from Snickers. Being on both sides of a trick-or-treat scenario at the same time freaks me out. And apparently, the first lady was the only quadruplet who survived to adulthood.

So, Halloween is tomorrow. What are you wearing? Me? I’m going as a aspiring copywriter with a retail, day job. Original, right?
